In Support of Black Lives Matter

The Modern Richmond Board has taken the time to listen and learn about current events, while trying to process the results of what systemic racism looks like in our city and throughout our country. We recognize the effects this behavior has had on Black lives. We strive to share a common understanding that transcends social, economic, and political barriers.

Modernism is a movement that has always sought to shed traditional and social norms in favor of rethinking the way architecture, art, and design shape the way we live, work, and play. It is a movement of transparency, of revelation, and of inclusion.

As an organization, we honor these values by standing in support of the peaceful protesters who desire immediate reform in our criminal justice system. We stand for racial justice and a community of inclusion.
